15 Looks From the Carine x Uniqlo Collection

It wasn’t easy for Uniqlo – a brand known for their basics and price friendly items – to produce the Carine x Uniqlo collection. “It was a challenge to find the fabrics she wanted — and to produce them to her high standards”, Uniqlo designer Naoki Takizawa admitted to WWD

In an earlier statement about designing the collection Carine Roitfeld said: “I started from the idea of clothes that I would want to wear myself, and developed this into clothes that anyone would want to wear”. That included materials like faux fur and vinyl, materials that Uniqlo doesn’t normally use.

We got a glimpse of the Carine x Uniqlo collection two weeks ago. In the ads a Carine look-a-like model showed four looks, including a woolen pencil skirt and printed tights. New images of the Carine x Uniqlo collection show even more double-breasted coats in different materials (faux fur, wool, vinyl) and patterns, a tee printed with a sketch of Carine Roitfeld, a variation of printed button-up shirts and a sweater.

Prices vary from $7,90 for tights to $199,90 for a coat. The collection consists of more than 40 pieces, also including some lingerie of which we haven’t seen any photos yet, and a silk dress and bomber jacket – as seen in an editorial in Roitfeld’s magazine CR Fashion Book. The collection is available from October 29th, online and in flagship stores around the world.
